Actin cytoskeleton plays an important role in neuronal development and it’s diseases by contributing in the regulation of cellular processes like cell shape, migration, locomotion, etc. Dendritic spines are involved in synaptic transmission and are rich in actin filaments. Malfunction of actin can affect shape and size of dendritic spines which subsequently may result to neuronal diseases. I am working on understanding role of actin dynamics during diseases like bipolar disorder, ASD, schizophrenia using publicly avaliable NGS datasets.
Furthermore in collabration with Prof. Müller I am working on effect of early life stress. I am also part of CRC 1193 A05 project.
